For more than two decades, St. Clair Veterinary Clinic has been a trusted name in veterinary care for families throughout Scottsburg, IN and the surrounding communities. What began as a single doctor’s passion for animal medicine has grown into a thriving practice built on compassion, education, and a genuine commitment to the human-animal bond. Our story is one of dedication, steady growth, and an unwavering focus on the health and comfort of every pet that walks through our doors.
Dr. Klent Brown began his career in veterinary medicine in May of 2000 after graduating from Purdue University, joining an established practice in Brownstown, Indiana. It was during these early years that he discovered his desire to become a practice owner. In 2001 he purchased that clinic and married soon-to-be veterinarian Dr. Kim Brown, settling next to the clinic in Brownstown while she completed her own veterinary education. In 2003 the practice merged with Brownstown Animal Hospital, and that same year Dr. Kim Brown joined the team after graduating from Purdue University as well.
In 2005 Dr. Brown and his partners founded Animal Hospital of Bedford, which continued to flourish under the care of both Klent and Kim. The Browns became sole owners of that practice in 2011, and in the spring of 2012 they purchased Stonebrook Animal Hospital in Bedford, merging the two locations into one. Dr. Cheryl Bauman joined the Bedford team at the beginning of 2015 and continues to practice full time alongside Dr. Klent and Dr. Kim Brown.
The St. Clair Veterinary Clinic chapter began in 2007, when Dr. Brown and his partners purchased the Scottsburg clinic. By 2011 Klent and Kim Brown had become the sole owners of the Scottsburg location, and in 2013 Dr. Regan Greene joined the practice, bringing additional expertise and a deep commitment to preventive care.
Today, Dr. Klent Brown sees patients at both clinics while devoting significant time to team training and management. The two locations operate as separate businesses, yet all of our veterinarians and support staff work together to deliver quality service, genuine compassion, and up-to-date medicine and surgery. Dr. Brown’s philosophy has always centered on providing excellent care at a competitive price while continuously improving the medicine and service at each location. He firmly believes that good medicine, quality service, and strong staff and client education are the true keys to success.
