What is Ehrlichia?

Ehrlichia is a disease that is transmitted by ticks. It has similar symptoms as Lyme disease, such as, fever, lethargy, anemia, and joint pain.

Does my pet have to be on a leash or in a cage?

Yes, we prefer cats to be in carriers and dogs to be on a leash, for all pet’s and owner’s safety.

Is payment due at the time of service?

Yes, we take all major credit cards, Care Credit, cash, and checks with proper ID.

Is my pet old enough for a Rabies Vaccination?

Dogs and cats have to be 12 weeks of age to get a rabies vaccination. We also recommend other vaccinations starting at 6-8 weeks of age. Our staff can go over those recommendations at your pets visit.

What age can my pet be spayed or neutered?

Pets can be spayed or neutered at any time after 4-5 months of age. We recommend for most pets to have this surgery after their vaccine series as a puppy or kitten at 4-6 months of age. There are some pets which the doctor may recommend to do at a later age of 6-9 months.

What age does my pet need to start vaccines?

Both kittens and puppies should start vaccinations between 6-8 weeks of age. They should have a total of 3-4 vaccines in a series. Their final vaccines are given around 14-16 weeks of age. Our veterinarians and staff will help determine what vaccines will be recommended for your pets situation.

Do pets need general anesthesia for dental cleaning?

Anesthesia is required to properly scale and clean your pet’s teeth. Each tooth is also inspected for abscesses or mobility to see if they need to be removed. Healthy teeth are important in a pet’s overall general health.

Can I get diseases from my pet?

Our doctors and staff will discuss those diseases that can be zoonotic at your pets visit. Some of the diseases that can be transmitted from pets to humans are Giardia, Roundworms, Hookworms, Rabies, Scabies, Leptosporosis, and Ringworm.
